Bus numbers 12, 13, 17 and 18 stop near to the library, and parking is available on Grand Avenue.

 

Situated at the Cowbridge Road end of Grand Avenue, Ely Library serves the large areas of Ely and Caerau to the west of Cardiff.

Services and Resources

  • A wide range of fiction, non-fiction, books on CD and cassette and DVDs.
  • A vibrant children's area with a selection of board, picture and story books. We also have a variety of children's DVDs and talking books.
  • Newspapers for adults and chidlren are available to read in the library.
  • Free Internet access on 16 computers including the use of Ancestry.com.
  • 2 child only computers in the children's area.
  • Printing and photocopying facilities.

Events

  • An adult reading group which meets regularly throughout the year.
  • Language and Play sessions run weekly for pre-school children during term time on Thursday mornings at 10am.
  • Holiday time activities for children.
  • Visits to the library can be arranged for groups within the community. These include adult learners, schools, nurseries and local interest groups.
  • Other services available in the library include Saturday surgeries with Rhodri Morgan AM and Kevin Brennan MP at 10am.
