Rather than exclusive services available
only to students, academic libraries are
becoming integral to their communities
and are opening up learning
opportunities to the general public.

Further education libraries have a stunningly broad remit. They provide services for young people and adults, right up to retirement and beyond. They support learning from basic literacy courses right through to postgraduate qualifications.
By offering information management skills, ICT courses and dedicated learning spaces, further education libraries can make all the difference to a broad variety of students.
Higher education libraries are not only providing increasing digital resources for their students and researchers and unprecedented levels of learning support, they are also opening up their catalogues to the general public and embracing the knowledgesharing that is the trademark of the information age.
In partnership with public and further education libraries they are bringing academic resources to a wider audience, whilst continuing to support the studies of tens of thousands of students across Wales.
