TV Presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star Gethin Jones has pledged his support to the ‘Happy Days’ campaign which encourages everyone to ‘take a fresh look at their library’.

Gethin spent the morning (30th October) at Colwyn Bay library in North Wales, reading some fun stories to children and taking some interesting questions from a lively audience!

Gethin said: “I’m delighted to be part of this campaign, libraries have played an important part in my life from when I was a child choosing my favourite books through to studying for my degree at University. I’m really impressed by all the different things that libraries now offer – not just the books, but DVDs, audio books and free internet access and it’s great that so much is available for free!  I thought the children’s area was great and I’m looking forward to taking my nephew as soon as he is old enough!”

The campaign was recently launched by Assembly Government Heritage Minister Alun Ffred Jones and Ruth Jones at Barry Library. Gethin Jones has joined other celebrities visiting libraries across Wales including Cerys Matthews, Stuart Cable and Colin Jackson to support of the campaign.
